CHIKMAGALUR: A meeting of district level officials and elected representatives will be held at Bangalore on Oct 27 or 28 to discuss all the problems of Chikmagalur district, claimed Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday after a discussion with the elected representatives, he said Government would seriously consider on appointing a empowered committee to tackle naxal menace as suggested by elected representatives in Chikmgalur district.

In Chikmagalur on one side civilians struggle and on the other naxals are active. Government is committed to do social justice to the people to be evicted from encroached forests, he said.

When his attention was drawn to the fact that the families settled even earlier to 1985 were evicted, he said it could have happened due to non-coordination between different Departments.
